Continuing Your Path: Options After PathwayConnect

Whether pursuing a degree or achieving a personal goal, students have options after PathwayConnect

There are many possibilities available to those who participate in the program, and the skills and confidence gained through PathwayConnect help countless students progress academically, professionally, and spiritually.

In Lewis Carroll’s novel, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Alice finds herself in a new and unfamiliar world. With little knowledge of her whereabouts and what Wonderland has to offer, she approaches the Cheshire Cat for assistance.

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?” said Alice.

“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.

Similar to Alice, many PathwayConnect students find themselves on an exciting and uncharted journey, filled with new challenges and opportunities. Unlike Alice, however, PathwayConnect students can have a clear vision of where they “ought to go” and pursue one of the numerous available options after program completion.

There are many possibilities available to those who participate in the program, and the skills and confidence gained through PathwayConnect help countless students progress academically, professionally, and spiritually.

Following are some options available to students after they complete PathwayConnect:

BYU-Idaho Online Degree Program

A popular option for many students finishing PathwayConnect is to pursue a degree or certification online through BYU-Idaho, presented and coordinated through BYU-Pathway. Students can work toward a professional certificate, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree from the convenience of their own home. Students keep the low PathwayConnect tuition rate and can complete their education at their own pace. Check out BYU-Idaho Online for a complete list of current degree and certificate options.

Local Colleges and Universities

Perhaps the Online Degree Program doesn’t offer the degree a student is after, or perhaps a student prefers campus-based learning to online. With the skills learned in PathwayConnect, a student can consider attending any establishment of higher learning with confidence and experience.

Trade Schools

Some students may desire to get a hands-on education learning practical skills required by thousands of employers. These options range from auto mechanics and welding, to cosmetology and floral design. Many trade schools typically cost less to attend than a university and also offer programs that can be completed in one or two years.

Workforce

The wonderful thing about PathwayConnect is that it can be a path to anything, not just an education. For some, additional schooling may not be necessary. Perhaps some students already have a good job and PathwayConnect is just helping their professional development. Or maybe PathwayConnect has provided the confidence needed to seek a promotion or a new career. Educationally or otherwise, PathwayConnect can improve students’ lives in many situations.

Whether age 19 or 90, students have dreams and ambitions. And with PathwayConnect’s focus on spiritual, professional, academic, and social growth, students will be better prepared to accomplish their personal goals  whatever they may be.

Students who desire help weighing their options after PathwayConnect should consult with their service missionaries or visit BYU-Pathway Student Support’s website.
