BYU-Pathway has hired Amber Mitchell as the new web specialist. She will be responsible for developing and maintaining the BYU-Pathway website, mentoring student web developers, and supporting BYU-Pathway’s general IT needs.
Amber moved from Seattle, Washington, where she was a webmaster for Microsoft and several other local dot-com companies. Extraordinarily dedicated to education, Amber taught herself how to write all the standard web languages and gained employment with various companies on a self-employed, contractual basis.

Amber Mitchell, her husband, and their three children
Amber Mitchell is a loving wife and mother of three children — her 15-year-old daughter and 13- and 10-year-old sons. Amber has grown especially close to her children by teaching them a self-styled liberal arts home education.
Amber is an advocate of smaller homes and simple living because she believes that in today’s world people should be stewards, producers, and creators instead of consumers. To share her innovative ideas, Amber has written many blog posts and authored videos to inspire others to lead more simplified, peaceful lives.
Amber holds BYU-Pathway in high regard, and she is very excited to see it continue to grow. She said, “The Learning Model of BYU-Idaho is inspired and the best way to engage and teach and learn by the Spirit. And that is totally unique in higher education. The Lord wants to bless all His children with as much education as they will seek.”
