Safety from the Rapids

When someone is neck-deep in water, we must pull them to safety

I was once told a story that had a profound impact on my life. Years ago while white water rafting, a young girl named Hannah was thrown into the roaring river as the raft she had been sitting in fought to conquer the largest rapid in the river. Her travel group, still aboard the raft, anxiously looked for signs of Hannah.

A few heart-pounding moments later, Hannah, due to the strong current, surfaced too far away for her friends to quickly retrieve her. As her travel group raced to rescue Hannah, another raft, who had partnered with them in the voyage, had witnessed what happened. They were able to quickly make their way to Hannah and pull her out of the dangerous, cold water and into the safety of their own raft.

We are brought together through PathwayConnect and strengthened by Christ to aid and assist each other.

As students, missionaries, and local priesthood leaders, we have the opportunity to form a partnership and join together on a voyage. And just as the partner raft pulled Hannah out of the river and into the safety of their own, we are brought together through PathwayConnect and are strengthened by Christ to aid and assist each other in the ongoing search and quest for knowledge and truth.
