Do you have a habit of studying the Book of Mormon? Prophets and apostles have taught that we receive unique blessings from studying the Book of Mormon daily. Its teachings can help you in all areas of your life! Here are three ways that daily Book of Mormon study can bless you in your education.

1. Increased self-confidence

You may feel insecure about your abilities at times or doubt you have the necessary tools to succeed, but the Book of Mormon can help!

Happy Person
Our self-confidence increases when we study the Book of Mormon.

As you study it daily, you can gain a greater understanding of God’s love for you and your identity as His son or daughter. Understanding your divine worth can increase your self-confidence and help you feel more capable of completing assignments, preparing for exams, learning in a different language, or balancing life and school with God’s help.

If we are humble and have faith in Him, the Lord promises, “…then will I make weak things become strong unto them.” 1 He is our strength.

2. Personal growth

When we study the Book of Mormon, we realize that every challenge we face has a purpose. Even the most righteous people in the Book of Mormon experienced serious challenges. Nephi had to build a ship with no previous training. 2

Nephi’s story teaches us about overcoming trials with faith.

Through the Book of Mormon, we learn that the Lord gives His children trials to help them grow. Pursuing education often presents significant challenges, like managing a busy schedule, finding money to pay for an education, or being successful in college courses after a long time away from school.

Studying the Book of Mormon daily will help you understand that these challenges are part of becoming who the Lord wants you to be and that He doesn’t expect you to overcome them alone. When Alma and the sons of Mosiah were serving as missionaries, “the burdens which were laid upon [them] were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease.” 5 He will do the same for you as you face trials with faith and a desire to grow.

3. Access to divine help

The primary purpose of the Book of Mormon is to testify of Jesus Christ and His role as our Savior. President Russell M. Nelson said, “When I think of the Book of Mormon, I think of the word power. The truths of the Book of Mormon have the power to heal, comfort, restore, succor, strengthen, console, and cheer our souls.” 6

These blessings are possible because of Christ and extend to all areas of life, including education. He will comfort you when you feel stressed or discouraged. He can restore your energy after long, difficult days (and nights) of studying. He can strengthen you as you learn hard concepts, work on challenging assignments, and fulfill callings and family responsibilities. He loves you and wants you to achieve your goals. Studying the Book of Mormon daily will give you greater access to His help.

A promise from a prophet

President Nelson said, “My dear brothers and sisters, I promise that as you prayerfully study the Book of Mormon every day, you will make better decisions — every day. I promise that as you ponder what you study, the windows of heaven will open, and you will receive answers to your own questions and direction for your own life.” 7
