"Five years ago, I was in a war with learning English. I was trying to like it, but it was so hard to understand and to speak. While I was preparing myself to go on a full-time mission, I made a goal that in five years—I wanted to be studying in an international college.

"It was two years of hard work, praying, fasting, reading large amounts of Church magazines, and listening to general conference talks to try to learn a new language. Then my mission president told me about a program called PathwayConnect for those who wanted to get an international degree and to me, it was God showing me the answer to my prayers.

"I started my studies at BYU-Pathway at the same time that I got married, and it was certainly one of the biggest challenges of my life. I had to adjust my schedule to find time to study, while also making sure I didn’t ignore my family obligations. While that was a tough time it was also great and I loved participating in gatherings on Thursday nights! My wife's support also made those adjustments easier.

"I am so thankful for the amazing opportunity that God has given us to improve ourselves and seek for a better education, so that we can help the world and prepare everything for the second coming of our Savior. Today, I can now say that I am studying in an international college, surrounded by those that I love, because God has made it possible."
