"I was nervous when I started the 3rd semester of the PathwayConnect program because I knew my English grammar was not the best. During my gatherings, I was hesitant to give feedback on the essays of my peers because of that. However, I tried my best. Eventually, I noticed some improvements in my writing.

"One time we were given the opportunity to write an article. Although, I had the least interest in it, I still wrote the article because I wanted to keep improving in my writing. Later, I received news that my article was chosen, and it was going to be published in the Aug 2019 Liahona.

"This was a humbling experience that proved to me that I need to act now, so that I can see what else I can do. Do not be afraid to share your thoughts. You may never know how your stories, experiences, or testimony may influence others.

"I would like to take the chance to encourage those who are considering joining BYU-Pathway to please do so. I testify how important lifelong learning is and how it would benefit ourselves, our families, and the people around us. Do not ever doubt your potential. We are all children of God who are capable of so much more. It all starts with a desire to learn and do."

"I applied to BYU-Pathway a couple of months after getting engaged to my sweetheart when I lived in Ontario, Canada. She lived in Pennsylvania, USA. At the time I was stuck in a dead-end job and had no formal education. I wanted to be able to offer so much more to my future wife and family.

"If I had to choose one scripture that best describes my BYU-Pathway experience, I would choose Doctrine and Covenants 1:19: 'The weak things of the world shall come forth and break down the mighty and strong ones.'
